I think you need to be farmer of the day, so I'll vote for you and let's see what happens. I salute you for getting into preserving. One year I went through a period of freezing produce (strawberries, peaches, broccoli, tomatoes...) for use in the winter but I have never had excess from my own garden that required that. In that case, I bought stuff at the market (2 doors down from my house). I tend to plant what I can eat but also haven't had super huge crops from what I plant, even though I planted 21 tomato plants. You'd think that would mean tons of tomatoes but last year, when we had really hot, dry weather, nothing produced very well in my yard. This is a very different spring/summer so far, with a lot more rain. I may have better luck with the tomatoes and squash this year, which are really starting to take off now. Wish me luck?
