Johnson Family Farm

Location:  Central Valley, CA

The Digs:  Backyard, Containers

Crops:  Almonds, Basil, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Carrots, Corn, Cucumbers, Green beans, Lettuce, Melons, Oranges, Peaches, Squash, Sugar Snap Peas

Why I'm Getting Dirty:  We're looking to live a more self-reliant life and to pass it on to our son. However, I never knew how much I would love it and how beautiful veggie gardening would be. I'm in love!

Congratulations in being farmer of the day. How's the garden been doing since 2010?

Thanks Nebraska Dave - we have a small space too, but it's amazing what we've been able to fit in it! :)

Congrats on Farmer of the Day. Self-reliant back to the roots of America living is where my family came from and where I still yearn to be. However I have to be satisfied with my Urban Ranch mid town city lot. It keeps me busy enough and the three raised beds give me a chance to grow a few veggies.
