Crops:  Basil, Bell Peppers, Blackberries, Chile Peppers, Collards, Cucumbers, Garlic, Jalepeno Peppers, Lavender, Lettuce, Mint, Potatoes, Rosemary, Squash, Strawberries, Thyme, Tomatoes

Animals:  Cats, Dogs, Rabbits

Why I'm Getting Dirty:  I care about the food my family eats, and I love the idea of a hobby that feeds us and gives me some exercise!

    WOW!!! Farmer of the day is awesome! Thanks so much! YES, I am still gardening, and having a wonderful tomato harvest right now....It's been a good year in the garden! :)

    By the way, regarding your last post about the self-planting squash, I had one of those among my carrots this year. When it got big enough, I moved it to its proper place with the other squash. It seems to me that plants that sprout up on their own turn out to be the strongest. One year, I had a pumpkin plant grow out of the composter and we actually got a jack o lantern out of it!

    I have a yellow squash plant that has popped up in my front yard! Have no idea how it got there, but it's happy and thriving...We'll see what kind of harvest we get out of it! :)

    Blog moment: The only things growing right now on my itty bitty urban farm are parsley and rosemary. Everything else is being planned for Spring. The seed catalogs are stacking up nicely! :)
