The Digs: Backyard, Containers, Front yard

Crops: Basil, Carrots, Corn, Garlic, Gourds, Lavender, Mint, Oregano, Pumpkins, Rosemary, Strawberries, Thyme, Tomatoes, Wheat(maybe)

Animals: Bees, Cats, Chickens, Dogs, Rabbits, Pigs(used to)

Why I'm Getting Dirty: Because I enjoy working outside and I want to be as green and earth friendly as possible!

CountryGirl, we are having warm weather here in Nebraska as well. New year's Eve day and 50 with bright sunshine. It feels like spring. I'm not sure how long this will last but everyone is enjoying it. I just hope it doesn't affect the gardening in the spring.

CountryGirl, I'm sorry to hear that your Laramie dream fell through. I'm just getting back from spending time with my family in Las Vegas. The maple trees have changed colors while I've been gone. They are the gorgeous yellow and gold fall colors. I should get my camera out and take a few pictures of the beautiful fall trees before it's over. This fall has been so wonderful here in Nebraska. With the dry weather it has allowed the trees to turn to fall colors slower and stay longer than usual. Seasonal change is one of the many things I like about where I live. There are four very distinct and different seasons to enjoy here. Some don't care for the cold and snow but it's a time to rest and play in the snow especially since my grandson and his Mom live here with me. Bradley is seven and is anticipating the snow to go tobogganing down the school yard hill. It was great on the small hill last year but we will be heading for the big hill this year. :0)
