Day Job: Homeschooling Mom, Herbalist, Fire and Hoop dance Performer

Crops: Basil, Kale, Lavender, Mint, Spinach, Strawberries, Thyme, Tomatoes, Radish, elecampagne, lemon balm, swiss chard, echinacea, ladies mantle, lemongrass, lemon verbena, oregano, hyssop, sage, comfrey

Animals: Cats, Chickens

Why I'm Getting Dirty: I'm an earthy gal and love to get my hands dirty and spend time outside. I'm also an herbalist and my major goal right now is to grow as many medicinal herbs and wild weeds as I can for medicine making. My garden has been slow to get started, we are growing veggies in only one bed right now. My herb bed is being worked into a flower bed around the front of my house. I hope to continue adding unusual plants. This spring I'm planning to make some raised beds in my front yard, as I find my backyard to be too shady.

Congrats on being farmer of the day.

I too started with one raised bed then went to three and now I have five. The key is not to try to do too much to quick.
