Aquaponic Greenhouse

Location: Boulder, CO

Day Job: President, The Aquaponic Source

The Digs: Backyard

Crops: Basil, Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Celery, Chile Peppers, Cucumbers, Kale, Kohlrabi, Lettuce, Mint, Oregano, Strawberries, Thyme, Tomatoes

Animals: Tilapia

Why I'm Getting Dirty: Maybe the better question for me is Why do I love fish poop? The reason is that my entire greenhouse is run using Aquaponics. I grow plants in a soil-less media with nothing other than fish waste. The plants then filter the water that is returned to the fish tank. Super productive and uses less than 10% of the water of traditional soil gardening.

I am trying to interest a couple of friends in the aquaponics as they want to cut there water use and also produce more for the family.
