  congratulations on being farmer of the day, and good for you for teaching your kids about where food comes from! I'm always horrified when my college freshmen don't know that a carrot is a root.

  Good for you to teach your kids not only reading, writing, and arithmetic but also about where food comes from. I'm always amazed to find kids that don't know where a french fry comes from. My grandson was shocked that Mc Donald's french fries came from a potato and that a potato grew under the ground.

  Hi HippyChick! Love the name. We homeschool as well. I am not sure if you have checked out PBS- they have Food Inc. and lesson plans that go along with it from POV on their site (point of view). Goes along with a lot of the things we Urban Farmers are doing. :) Happy Gardening and Happy Homeschooling. Rachel- Garden of Eatin'
