I live on the west side and am considering starting both a community garden and a school garden for IPS #44. It would be great to have someone in town as a sounding board for ideas.

Hey, HHA.
To answer your earlier question about rooftop gardening, I've done both flowers and food. Mostly containers but a friend has built up berms on his roof. He also has chickens and bees up there. He's got a bigger roof (and one that is accessible.) I found tomatoes like it hot and don't mind a roof watering schedule which is let it dry out and then soak it through. Makes it easy to check once a week or so.
