Crops:  Basil, Bell Peppers, Carrots, Cucumbers, Green beans, Lavender, Lettuce, Mint, Oranges, Potatoes, Rosemary, Squash, Strawberries, Sugar Snap Peas, Thyme, Tomatoes

Why I'm Getting Dirty:  Living in Central Valley, CA allows us to grow food all year long. After taking a family pay cut we began really looking at our budget, which led us to food and health, as well as sustainability. There is nothing more rewarding than making a fully home-cooked meal, realizing you are in need of a herb and being able to go into your container garden to get it.

I'm very envious of your growing season. In fact, you don't even need to call it a season. The other amazing thing is the fruit you can grow. I love oranges but there's no such thing as local oranges up here. Oh well, we do what we can with what we've got. The weather here is perfect for gardening right now, and I'm excited that our growing season has begun.
