Palmer Springs "Farm"

Location:  East Liverpool, OH

Day Job:  Consignment Boutique Owner

The Digs:  Backyard, Containers, Front yard

Crops:  Apples, Basil, Bell Peppers, Blackberries, Broccoli, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Collards, Corn, Cucumbers, Gourds, Grapes, Green beans, Jalepeno Peppers, Kale, Kohlrabi, Lavender, Melons, Oregano, Pears, Peas, Potatoes, Pumpkins, Raspberries, Squash, Strawberries, Sugar Snap Peas, Thyme, Tomatoes

Animals:  Cats, Chickens, Dogs, Coming Soon: CHICKENS!!

Why I'm Getting Dirty:  I want to teach my children how to be sustainable using what we can recycle/create in an unsustainable economy. Teach them to be self reliable. I have always enjoyed the outdoors but "farming" has never really been my thing. When I was younger, I couldn't cook well (I remember burning taco shells in FHA), couldn't grow things well (I killed a cactus) and wasn't really a grand home-maker (even with 4 kids-I'm still not a good one, lol. We are all learning together and each year our little "farm" becomes more fruitful. Last year I added my first pond site (extremely small, but fruitful) as my herb garden. This year I have expanded it to beans and asparagus also. Lets hope they fruit....

Congratulations! May not have started out as a great gardener but looks like you've made progress. Sounds like you're also persevering. Great job & good luck!

Wow; congrats! I wish I had a yard big enough for a garden that large. Great job!
