The Digs:  Backyard, Community Garden, Other

Crops:  Bell Peppers, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Collards, Garlic, Green beans, Kale, Lettuce, Melons, Peas, Potatoes, Spinach, Squash, Sugar Snap Peas, Tomatoes, Turnips

Animals:  Bees, Chickens, Dogs, Rabbits

Why I'm Getting Dirty:  Gardening is a lifelong avocation. The community garden/greenhouse angle adds an extra dimension of neighborhood involvement and revitalization as well as an economic benefit. (Photo) The group actively participates in farmer's markets and an organic vegetable company.
