Urban Farm Managing Editor

Location:  Lexington, KY

Day Job:  managing editor for Urban Farm and Hobby Farms, associate editor for Hobby Farm Home

The Digs:  Backyard, Containers

Crops:  Basil, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Jalepeno Peppers, Lettuce, Tomatoes

Animals:  Cats

Why I'm Getting Dirty:  Having worked on Urban Farm since its early stages, I've gained even more appreciation for sustainable living and the people who are making an effort to be self-sufficient. My little garden and green initiatives are small compared to what so many people are doing, but I feel like even the small things we do make a difference.

I'm looking forward to reading others ideas on gardening in small spaces. Also any suggestions for cities that are going through drought conditions, for gardening with limited water resources for the Urban gardener.

I'm from a small town in the mountains of Kentucky...Hazard. I'm now living in California on our mini farm...3/4 of an acre & love growing our own organic food & having our own eggs & other animals...it's paradise...I just got my first issue of Hobby Farms recently and just placed an order for Urban Farm today....love the website!!!

Top o' the morning! I love this magazine! You are right about how even small things make a difference. I notice more and more families in my neighborhood are starting to think more about sustainability.

Congrats on Farmer of the Day. I have a good friend who lives in Lexington. I will have to turn her onto Urban Farm.
