I had a brindle hound too. Rescued from Tucson. His racing name was Profit and we changed it to Prophet. I also had one in really bad shape from FL. His name was Shilo. Poor guy was afraid of men, all but me. They are the best dogs ever! Glad to see yours on here. Best of luck to you!

Love the gaillardia picture. I just happen to be growing some from seed right now. Just counted 23 seedlings. Can't until they look like yours. About the slugs & snails, we don't have that problem here in Nebraska. We use ashes from the wood burning stove in the garden. They don't like the ashes. Snails & slugs must be a common problem on the west coast. Our friends in Seattle have the same problem.
