  Congratulations on being farmer of the day. Last time I see you blogged here was in June, and the tomatoes and peppers were ripening. Mine were just in their early days after a cold, wet spring. How did the chili turn out?

  Cool chick - what's the breed? We're planning to have a couple of chickens when we move later this year.

  Your little guy is cute. I've had roosters. We have a couple of hens who regularly go broody. I can't "have" chickens in the first place, so obviously can't have a roo to "out" my girls. My close neighbors think they're cool, but a roo would announce and I don't need that - - Anyway -
  We've given the broodies eggs to hatch and ended up with roos. We played with them same as the hens. They were as sweet and playful as the hens. Even one that was a "Mr. Grouchy". would walk around you, complaining that you were in the coop. But sit down and he was all over your lap for scratches and pets. Funny.

  My tomatoes are ripening, my chocolate bell peppers are beautiful. I see some awesome chili in my future!

  It poured rain last night. That will save me from watering today! I love it when nature does part of the work!

  Busy yesterday, garden is growing like crazy, I mowed, weeded, hung laundry on the line (love that!), and took care of critters. Got bunny kisses and chicken hugs!

  We have a process we call the Taming of the Roo. He is an accident--we ordered pullets! We hope to keep him tame emough that he won't be a nuisance. He still runs when we catch him, but does pretty well when we hold him.
