Leaning Pole Ranch

Location:  Wilhoit, AZ

Day Job:  Vet Tech

The Digs:  Backyard, Containers, Front yard

Crops:  Basil, Bell Peppers, Carrots, Cucumbers, Garlic, Green beans, Jalepeno Peppers, Lavender, Lettuce, Melons, Mint, Oregano, Peas, Potatoes, Rosemary, Spinach, Squash, Thyme, Tomatoes, Turnips, onions,

Animals:  Goats, Rabbits, Livestock Guardian Dogs,

Why I'm Getting Dirty:  My husband (Ted), and I (Linda) are working toward self sufficency while trying to keep everything miniaturized. A trial and error method of growing our own vegies is in progress. Slowly we are figuring out what is working and what is not worth the effort! We also raise Nigerian Dwarf and Miniature Alpine dairy goats for dairy, meat, and show. A more recent endevor are the rabbits. In the beginning we tried large rabbits for meat, but are settling on miniature rabbits (Britannia Petites & Lionheads) for show. We so love our "country" life!

Congrats to you! Best wishes and good luck with the garden. My husband and I are also doing the trial and error method of gardening.

Really cool! You're a lot farther along with being self sufficient than I am. I would love to get some goats, but I don't have the room. Voted!
