What a beautiful backyard garden! So organized! I've always wanted to try and grow brussel sprouts. Voted.

Checked back in to see how things are going in Largo Florida. It reminds me of how fabulous your garden is. I guess you're in planting mode now for the new season; the season for which we urban farmers up north envy you.

I'm doing a presentation on Sustainable City Living and Urban Farming for a class at St. Pete College. Can I use some of you photos in my presentation. I think they would be great since you are right here in the bay area.

Thanks for sharing all the new pics. Wow! You're growing so much! Do you can stuff or can you actually eat it all? I grow peas up here in Ontario. I'm going to plant them right into the garden this weekend. I hear Dave about them being better in cool weather but mine were fine in the heat wave last summer. I grow edible pod peas (sugar snap). That might be a solution for you because you can pick them while they're smallish and maybe before they dry out.

Rick & Sallie, peas are definitely a cool weather crop. When the weather is hot they dry up and die. Here in Nebraska folks plant there peas early in the year when the soil temperature is still below 50 degrees. By june when the temps are beginning to climb into the 90s the peas are done. Fall is another time when folks here plant peas. About August is when they plant here to have them grow into the cooler temperatures of fall. Personally I don't grow peas because of all the work involved to grow them, shell them and can them when I can just go to the store and for 49 cents buy a can of peas. :0)

Wow! Everything is looking great! Thanks for the update! I'm envious. I'm still away on business and won't be settled until the end of summer (I hope). Hopefully I'll have a chance to plant a few things this summer. If not, I might do some greens, toms and cucs in the garage with hydroponics... we'll see. Have a good one!
