Why I'm Getting Dirty:  I started growing in 2008 as a way to combat the gloom upon the return from a deployment in 2006-2007. I was so amazed at how much food grew from a handfull of seeds. I have expanded every year, space and variety. I chose to grow organic in 2009, it was more of a challenge and better for my plants/soil. To this day, my garden helps me keep my sense of balance and brings me great joy.

Worked at the local community greenhouse yesterday. Very exciting to combine need to volunteer for the community and gardening!

I am telling the world...If I find my dogs eating another tomato from my garden (after eating all my spaghetti squash), I am going to do something mean to them! Maybe bath them every day for a month!

I am finally able to upload pics from this year! Now you can see the areas I added last year, the straw/potato bed and the grow bags.

Farmer of the day? I'm so happy! I have an acceptance speech...but my wife hid it on me! Anyway, I wish I was weather maker for the day, 60s all week long. I need heat and sunshine for these plants to grow!

Those are some great looking garden beds. I hope the corn grows for you. And was that cheese making I saw in one of your pictures? Mmmm fresh cheese and homemade bread. That sounds great!
