Anutsoup, thanks for the visit to my page. Would you believe we have been in our house for 7 years now?! I can't believe how the time flies. As the summer progresses, the front yard is filling in more and more. Some of the flowers (echinacea, rudbeckia) seeded themselves. It's so satisfying to see all the colour come up. I was trying to make the front yard partly edible but the edibles have not done so well. I had some ferns that I should've been able to eat in the spring as fiddleheads. They didn't do well this year. I've had a grape vine trying to get started for 2 years and it didn't come back this year. I have a tiny cherry tree. If it survives, it will be a long time until it has any fruit. Oh well. The birds, bees and butterflies love the yard and eat from it. Maybe that's enough.

Great pictures! My chickens ate the collards. Have to build cages over the raised beds or they can't free range.
How much space do you have?

I agree with Jenna. Great pictures! I'm also interested in permaculture, and would love to do over my front yard. Keep us posted with your progress through pictures. Do you have or have you read the book Gaia's Garden?
