You have an awesome container garden. Love the boots planters!

Those are some nice greens! I can relate to the bland greens from the grocery store. Voted

I have harvested my garden of greens about four times, each time it looked like it would die from lack of greenery. However, it comes back time after time with ever more greenery for me to harvest and eat! I have never tasted greens that were so delicious before! I need to go out and harvest again, but I look forward to the wonderful foods I get to bring into my house with the knowledge that I grew it, I know exactly what is in it. What a wonderful feeling!

I have what looks like the leftover remnants of a green carpet after a litter of puppies finished with it, but they are seedlings in my tiny garden!
Woo hoo! I may get to harvest something this year, after all!!!! Yay!
My tomatoes are greening up and bushing out well, but no sign of flowers yet.
My flowers are still doing well and blooming! I am impressed with their ability to grow in spite of me! lol

I have seedlings! Seriously! They are poking up out of the grass clippings! I just noticed (Okay, looked really hard for) them today!

Thank you for the vote, cse! I have finally planted some seeds in my garden! I planted collards and tender greens (a mixture of spinach and stuff). My garden is more "natural" than I wanted and I ended up just spreading the seeds out over the top of it, but that is the best I can do right now. I planted garlic in the shoes (since it was growing in my fridge anyway...) and there are flowers catching the drips from the air conditioner. I think the flowers like it there, but they need some mulch to protect the soil from erosion.

Thanks for the congratulations on my win for fotm. Looks like you have a nice setup too! As for the peacocks, we don't actually raise them. We were given two males and their sole purpose is to look pretty and wake up the neighbours. We get some really nice feathers too!

    Leaving a vote for you.

I added new photos of my progress!!
I have dug up only a corner of my garden area. It raised about four inches, just by being broken up. I am in the process of adding some grass clippings to it. I am hoping this will keep it from packing back down again. I have been told that the soil is great and needs no fertilizer, but I added some natural fertilizer (aged horse manure and hay mixture) to it anyway. I, also, added some landscaping mulch to it and now I am trying to get it mixed well. The area has raised about six inches all together. My rescued tomatoes (I got them free from a store who could not sell them) seem to be doing okay. They are still alive and I waited till the heat wave was over (???) before transplanting them into bigger pots. I didn't want to overly stress them.
I may still get some tomatoes. I have been told that there is another time for tomatoes to produce after the heat of summer passes. We will see...
My flowers are doing well. I seem to have lost my black thumb and am gaining a green one! I hope so!!! lol

Diatomaceous earth works on ants? I will try it if this grits doesn't work. Though I have not seen an ant in a few days in my garden area. I was told that they eat it and the whole colony eats it and it creates gas in them. They cannot expel gas, so they die.
I have ants all over my yard, but the only ones I want to deal with are the ones by the mailbox and the ones in my garden area. Not trying to wipe out ants, just trying not to get bit by them! lol
