Meet Today's Farmer of the Day

    Location: Riverside, CA

    Day Job: Systems Engineer

Why I'm Getting Dirty: I've loved growing things ever since I was a little boy watching my mother grow peppers, tomatoes, and cantaloupes in a long, narrow patch of dirt alongside our driveway in New York. The rigors and stresses of the day just disappear when I'm working in the garden. I like to incorporate herbs and shrubs into my fairy gardens, making them practical as well as decorative. That "bush" behind the little red-winged fairy in the upper left corner of my main photo is actually Greek oregano and the "shade tree" is a Japanese boxwood shrub. I carved the rails and posts for the fences from bougainvillaea branches.
