My husband & I are going to try to use human power to help charge the batteries that is used for back upv to our solar and generator system. We have the bike stand w/ generator attachment that we got on eBay. We are going to try to set up the treadmill power generator from that website I mentioned in an earlier post. If that is successful, we will try to recreate the seesaw generator that Raj Pandian first created. Inspired by "The human powered home".

What about a Nordic Track? I'd love to hook that up to a small a/c in the summer. Which in Houston is 6 to 9 months out of the year.

If you go to farm4energy.com then go to energy solutions. There is a list of aeticles for power, but you want to check out "Exercise Power"; it gives instructions on converting your bike or eliptical to produce small quantities of power.

Incredible! I'm eager to see evolution of alternative energies become more mainstream. Hmm.. wonder if there is a kit out there to do this???

What a wonderful idea. I wish we could convert our treadmill to do the same.

This is so cool! This would be perfect in the winter when it is harder to get out and exercise.
