The current research into Colony Collapse disorder is pointing to a combination of events and forces the bees interact with as a most likely cause.

CCD currently primarily affects the large commercial producers and migratory pollinators and the feral areas surrounding those bee yards.

A one-two punch combination of agricultural chemicals such as pesticides and the introduction of diseases carried by Varroa mites is highly suspected.
