Comments On - Geothermal Systems for Your Home

Depends on the location and cost

I would love a system for our home. We have to "Gas Packs", one is 13 years old. They run about $5,000 each to replace. The GeoTherm quote is about $45-55K to install and have a 40 year warranty. In 40 years I could replace 8 units (at ever increasing costs)and never achieve GT efficiency...but $50K all at once? Yikes!

I've done some investigating ans it seems rather costly to install, but good for the long run. I don't know if my short term budget would be able to afford the installation.

We love our geothermal system, which we've had for about 3 years. Quiet, unobstrusive (nice to get that heat pump out of the yard) and efficient.

Geothermal heat-pump systems seem to be the logical way to heat and cool for the future homes.
