Mm. I make regular old potato latkes, or sometimes potato-apple latkes based on a Weight Watchers recipe (those need a lot of squeezing out), but I hadn't even considered other root veggies! Sound delicious.

A blender is not even close to what a food processor can do - at very least, buy an immersion blender-really cheap and really useful for puree and soup, if not for grating potatoes.

Maybe I'll ask Santa for one this year. I was looking at them in the store yesterday. I'm just too frugel at times. The old .... old blender just won't quit working so I have a hard time justifying buying a food processor. I know they are different functionally but they still kind of look the same. What do you think should I upgrade or not?

Have a great processing day.

You deserve a food processor, David. I use mine all the time for the veg I cook.

I've not heard of a latke but it does sound good. There are some things that just need to be fried in oil to taste good. I like the food processor method of grating. I've been looking to get one. Maybe Santa will bring one this year. :)

Have a great latke day.
