What a great program! No doubt we get some lifetime gardeners from it! :)

What better way to get kids hooked on gardening that to let them grow something unusual like the behemoth cabbage plants. It almost makes me want to be a kid again. I'm encouraged to hear that schools are involved with something outside of the book learning that's practical life skills. I believe we are heading into a time where gardening skills will be a must to survive.

Have a great behemoth cabbage day.

Totally wonderful. Not only do the kids get the experience of growing things themselves, they get to grow a 'fun' variety. I'll bet that changes their view of cabbage for the rest of their lives, especially the young lady who grew the 17-pounder.

That's a lot of sauerkraut.
