Comments On - Marjoram

Rick, I've not tried to grow herbs and rarely use them in anything that I cook. Yeah, I know, I'm a pretty bland chef. Cooking is just not one of my passions in life. I tell folks that you can live on my cooking but the taste is nothing to brag about. That's not to say that I don't like well seasoned food because I do. I'm just not good at putting spices together. Therefore, I just trade handy work for food from my friends that can cook. Works for me.

Sounds wonderfully aromatic and tasty. I love growing herbs. The prices in the markets are amazingly, no, staggeringly high when you consider what you can grow in a small area or a few pots on a window sill.

Recently, I brought in several bags of lemon and genovese basil, rosemary, thyme and oregano to the ladies in the office where I work. They had no idea that you could grow these things in the desert. I now have a steady customer base for my herbs. That helps to pay for my costs of gardening.

Getting paid for the food I grow. Does that make me a farmer yet?
