Rick, I tried the city animal thing with raising rabbits. They all turned out to be family pets with names and nary a one was eaten. I gave that idea up with family always making pets out of even the wild animals that lived around the neighborhood. Today, the family grew up and moved on and the wife succumbed to many health issues so with just me there's no one to care for the animals when I'm gone for 7 to 10 days at a time visiting .... family. In addition to that my seven year old grandson would never allow grandpa to eat a fuzzy little bunny. (Big Sigh) I guess I'm just destined to grow vegetables and be happy with that. Have a great chicken day.

I love the idea of chickens in the yard. I'm working to change the onerous zoning restrictions that prohibit me from legally having them at my home.

It's funny. I can have a bunch of dogs that bark and howl and leave unsightly piles everywhere, but I can't have a chicken. I can have rabbits, but I'm limited to pets only. I can't process them on my property. Lord only knows what would happen if I should actually eat one of them!

Sometimes these laws make no sense.
