Comments On - Composting With Less Labor

Been composting for 20 years and only have to "turn" my compost once in the process. When I have to "invert" the barrel into another one.

Kept two 32-gal trash barrels with a few 2" holes around. Keep dumping kitchen refuse in it until it's about 4"-5" thick. Then cover it with about 2" of soil. Keep doing it till the barrel gets filled up. Then I transfer it to another barrel of same size with same holes. Like turning it upside down. By the time the second barrel is ready for the transfer, the first barrel is fully composted. I do sift it to get out some big rocks & sticks that I might have thrown in it.

The first year was the longest wait. After that it just became a cycle.
