I really hope that this is not a tax-supported initiative. It would be a great partnership if the companies who profit from the recycling efforts of the people (and the profit exists whenever you have a free source of materials donated by residents of the community) actually fund the project. The city could, and should, promote this effort from the standpoint that it is in the best interests of the city (reduced landfill costs, reduced trash hauling costs, beautification efforts, etc.) but unless the people encumber themselves with a law requiring it, they should not need to enrich those private companies by subsidizing their business with tax dollars.

Sounds great. Wish there were more recycling options around here.
