Cool story, our friend next door to us, got two small roosters, but they became a stew. I grew up on a farm and I know the circle of life and death all to well. It made our friend understand that to take a life can be very difficult indeed. When we go to the store and pick up a chicken or a pound of beef,or a leg of lamb, it's usually not to bad all the plucking or cutting, and blood has been done and cleaned up all ready for you to take home.. Loosing a chicken, or Rooster to a dog, or coyote, can be hard, but like your story our animals become pets, and it's hard to let them go.. I am glad you Rooster, get a chance to become a full grown one that makes lots of sweet baby chicks this coming spring...
