Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups homebrewed beer (most types of beer will work well)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Stir in beer, mixing well until everything is combined.

Pour mixture into pan, and bake for 45 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top of crust, and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Cool before slicing.

Makes 1 loaf.

I don't know if I did something wrong but this came out bad. Maybe I needed to use a stronger flavered beer.

Stephanie,

You don't need to use a bread maker for this recipe because no kneading is necessary. You can just mix it and bake.

Is it possible to use a bread maker for this bread? If so, what settings should be used?
